about

Hattie Magazine is a quarterly print magazine created by Multidisciplinary Artist Jazmin Jenay. It was created out of a deep love for print and a desire to hold our stories, connect with our community and get inspired beyond the digital timeline.

In a time when so much of Black television and film lives in the scroll of a finger and seemingly disappears just as quickly, Hattie exists as something physical. A magazine meant to be held, revisited, and kept. It documents contemporary Black television and film as it is happening right now, creating a printed record of this moment and the people shaping it.

Each issue centers conversation, photography, and storytelling across disciplines, honoring both the visible and unseen labor that brings these stories to life. Hattie is for the people on all sides of the camera and for the future readers who deserve to know how this era looked and felt.

This publication is intentionally print only.

Hattie is not about keeping up. It is about keeping something.
