Hattie Magazine is an independent, print only publication dedicated to documenting contemporary Black television and film.

Contributions help support the production of future issues, including editorial, photography, printing, and distribution. Every contribution helps us continue this work with care and intention.

Hattie is self funded and produced in limited runs. Your support allows us to remain independent and focused on preservation rather than pace.

Contributions are not tax deductible, but they make the work possible.

  • At this time, contributions to Hattie Magazine are not tax deductible. Hattie is an independent, self funded publication operating as an LLC. Contributions directly support the continued production of the magazine and related programming.

  • Contributions help support the full production of Hattie Magazine.

    This includes paying contributing writers, photographers, and artists, keeping the magazine in print, covering operational costs, purchasing editorial assets, producing original artwork for the cover, printing and distribution, and supporting future issues.

    Every contribution helps ensure this work is created with care and intention.

  • Yes. We are always open to hearing from people who are interested in supporting the magazine beyond financial contributions.

    If you are interested in volunteering, assisting with future events, or getting more involved with Hattie, please email us and tell us a bit about yourself and how you would like to help.

    If you are a gallery, bookstore, or space interested in hosting Hattie for an event or gathering, we would love to hear from you as well.
